Parking is on site and it is free. The entrance is the stone front with the practice name above the door and Suite 700 printed on the glass, so it is straightforward to pick out from the parking lot. If you are running late, or you cannot find the door, call 817-379-3770 and someone will answer and talk you in. For someone driving in from Westlake, the point of Tapping is that it is meant to leave the building with you. An EFT practitioner sits across from you and works through the sequence at the same pace, so you are not left guessing whether you are doing it correctly; once the technique feels comfortable it is yours to use on your own, anywhere. Sessions are for learning it and for working through something specific with support.
What is EFT or Tapping?
EFT, often referred to as tapping, can be likened to a psychological version of acupuncture. EFT is based on the idea that tapping on acupressure points on the face and upper body can help release blocked emotions and reduce negative feelings. An EFT practitioner will guide you through the necessary techniques, but once the client is comfortable, it’s possible and often recommended to use it on your own outside of sessions. It involves tapping body points in a sequence while focusing on an emotional or physical issue which can improve your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Tapping utilizes the meridian system within the body. Each meridian has several acupressure points along its path. When focusing on a difficult/negative issue while tapping these points, we are sending a signal to the amygdala that tells us we are safe, thus rewiring the brain to choose a better thought/response.
In session
In a session, your practitioner sits across from you and works through the sequence with you — the same points, at the same pace, while you stay focused on the issue you came in with. You are never left guessing whether you are doing it correctly.
Once the technique feels comfortable, it goes home with you: a tool you can use on your own, anywhere, whenever you need it.
