Fertility

Preparing for a pregnancy, or wondering why one has not happened yet. Either way, the groundwork is the same and it is worth doing well.

What this can look like

How we approach it

Starting with what is actually going on

Preparing the body for a pregnancy and investigating why one has not happened are two different questions, and both are worth taking seriously. The groundwork is largely shared: understanding the cycle rather than assuming it, checking thyroid function, iron, vitamin D and B12, looking at blood sugar and at how stress load is affecting the whole system. Those things are measurable, they are modifiable, and they are frequently not examined until much later in the process. This is support alongside whatever medical care you are receiving, not instead of it — we are not a fertility clinic and we will not present ourselves as one. What we can offer is time, a wider look at the picture, and a plan for the months before rather than only the months during. Where something needs a specialist, we will say so directly.

Therapies worth exploring

Which of these makes sense depends on what the first conversation turns up. You do not have to choose one now.

Fertility Questions people ask

Is this instead of seeing a fertility specialist?

No. This runs alongside whatever medical care you are having, and we will say plainly when something needs a specialist. Nothing here is offered as an alternative to that.

Should my partner come too?

If they are willing, yes. Half the picture is frequently not looked at until late, and it is easier to look at both from the start.

How far ahead should we start?

Earlier is better, simply because nutrient status and cycle patterns take months rather than weeks to shift. If you are already trying, that is fine too — start now.

Not sure this is the right page?

Start with what you are noticing

Most people arrive with a symptom rather than a service in mind, and more than one of these pages will often sound familiar. That is normal — the concerns overlap because the body does. Browse all fifteen, or just call and describe it. You do not have to arrive with the right words.
