Yeast overgrowth is one of those subjects where the internet is louder than the evidence, and that makes it hard to get a straight answer. Here is ours. Candida is a normal resident of the gut, and it becomes a problem when the conditions that keep it in balance change — often after antibiotics, through a diet high in refined sugar, or alongside blood sugar that runs high. The symptoms it produces overlap heavily with other things, which is why we would rather test than assume, and why we are cautious about long restrictive protocols sold on the strength of a symptom checklist. What tends to help is unglamorous: addressing what feeds the overgrowth, supporting the gut environment so balance can re-establish, and supporting the pathways that clear things out. If your symptoms point somewhere else, we will say so rather than treating the label.
