What is Raindrop Therapy?

Raindrop Technique® and Lymphstar® Pro

Raindrop therapy is a form of aromatherapy that involves the use of essential oils applied to the spine. The oils are dropped like rain from a height of about six inches above the back, and are then massaged into the skin. The therapy is based on the idea that essential oils can help to balance the body’s energy centers and promote healing.

The technique was developed by D. Gary Young, a naturopath and founder of Young Living Essential Oils. According to Young, he first chose 9 pure, therapeutic grade essential oils that would synergistically combine to kill viral and bacterial pathogens, reduce inflammation, support the immune system, ease respiratory discomfort, relax stressed muscles, and relieve the body of bone and joint discomfort. He felt this combination of oils would also balance the energy, lift the spirit by reducing stress, and calm the troubled and confused mind. This new realm of healing can release emotional bondage.

In addition to the essential oils, raindrop therapy also includes the use of a technique called “feathering and fanning,” which involves lightly running the fingers along the spine to help the oils penetrate the skin. This is just one of the techniques used during the therapy.

Raindrop therapy is used to help with a variety of health issues, including back pain, headaches, and fatigue. Some people also use it to help with stress and anxiety. It is a noninvasive therapy for fighting against the spine, which alleviates symptoms of scoliosis, kyphosis and other back ailments.

Our Raindrop treatment also involves lymph therapy, also known as lymphatic drainage, which is a type of massage that is designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and help to move lymphatic fluid around the body. The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and nodes that helps to remove waste and toxins from the body. We use the Lymphstar Pro machine, which uses physical vibration to transmit energy through an electrostatic energy field to stimulate and drain the lymphatic system.

Lymphatic drainage massage can help to reduce swelling and improve the immune system, and is commonly used to treat lymphedema (swelling), chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia. However, because this treatment helps rid the body of waste products, it can be used by individuals with a variety of health concerns. Raindrop therapy is not recommended to individuals who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, have cancer, have had a stroke, have open skin wounds or sores, or have blood clots. Any medical condition that you are unsure of and therefore unaware of the impact may inhibit individuals from this therapy. It is good for anyone 6 years or older.

What do expect
This treatment consists of Raindrop therapy on the back, followed by lymphatic drainage on the top front half of the body. Individuals may wear pants of any kind during the appointment but will be asked to remove clothing from the top up. Hair will be tied back and jewelry will be removed prior to or during the appointment.

What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
The lymphatic system transports the fluid that cleanses every cell and organ in the body. It is the pathway for toxins to exit from the blood and from the spaces between the cells. It is essentially the information highway of our immune system and proper lymph flow is essential for good health.

We use the Lymphstar Pro machine, which uses physical vibration to transmit energy through an electrostatic energy field to stimulate and drain the lymphatic system. The machine emits a low energy vibration that is safe and relaxing to experience. This technique allows the body to more efficiently transport waste and toxins out of the body by increasing fluid exchange into cells and organs, including white blood cells, which enhances its immune capabilities.

It can help to reduce swelling and improve the immune system, and is commonly used to treat lymphedema (swelling), chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia.

What to expect
This treatment involves full body lymphatic drainage massage. Individuals will be asked to remove all clothing aside from undergarments. Hair will be tied back and jewelry will be removed prior to or during the appointment.

Important Info
Always drink adequate amounts of water after each Lymphstar Pro session (6-8 average glasses) to assist in the cleansing process. Additional minerals and electrolytes are also recommended as with any detoxification process.

Interesting Facts
Did you know that our left side of the body contains more lymph nodes than the right? 80% of our lymph nodes are located on the left, while 20% are on the right.

At home, the best ways to detox the lymph system besides dry brushing and rebounding are through muscle contractions, breath and movement. Practice deep breathing and you’ll be amazed at how you feel.

What is Breast Thermography?
Breast thermography, also known as digital infrared imaging, is a non-invasive technique used to detect abnormalities in the breast tissue. This imaging technique uses infrared cameras to detect temperature changes in breast tissue, which can indicate the presence of abnormalities such as cancerous tumors.

Unlike mammograms, breast thermography does not use ionizing radiation, making it a safer and less invasive option for women. In addition, breast thermography can detect changes in breast tissue up to 5 years earlier than mammograms, as it can detect changes in blood flow and temperature that occur before tumors form.

How does breast thermography work?
Breast thermography works by using infrared cameras to detect temperature changes in breast tissue. These cameras capture images of the breast tissue and the images are analyzed for temperature differences. Normal breast tissue has a consistent temperature, while abnormal tissue can have higher or lower temperatures due to increased blood flow or inflammation.

What to expect?
Necklaces, bracelets, watches, and earrings are removed before or during the appointment. Any hair that is below the chin will need a ponytail or clip. During your appointment, you will sit in a room that is between 68-72 degrees for 15 minutes to cool your body down. Privacy is maintained during the cooling down period and throughout the appointment. Afterwards, three images with the infrared camera will be taken of the breasts, followed by what we call a “freeze blast”. Your hands will be placed in cold water that is between 51-53 degrees for one minute. This is to cool the body down further and to identify that no heat shows up, as this would be an abnormal physiological response within the body. After the cold water, three more images will be
taken.

Benefits of breast thermography
Breast thermography has several benefits over other breast imaging techniques. Some of these benefits include:

  1. Safety: Breast thermography does not use ionizing radiation, making it a safer option for women.
  2. Early detection: Breast thermography can detect changes in breast tissue earlier than other imaging techniques, allowing for earlier detection and treatment. Studies show it can detect up to five years earlier than other modalities.
  3. Non-invasive: Breast thermography is a non-invasive procedure that does not require any compression or manipulation of the breast tissue.
  4. Suitable for women of all ages: Breast thermography can be used on women of all ages, including women who are pregnant and nursing.

Carotid Thermography Information
The carotid artery is an important blood vessel located in the neck that supplies 85% of the blood to the brain. When plaque builds up in the carotid artery, it can cause a blockage, leading to an increased risk of stroke or other cardiovascular diseases. Carotid thermography uses infrared heat to identify areas of inflammation and plaque buildup in the carotid artery by measuring the temperature in the artery.

Thyroid Thermography Information
The thyroid gland is an important endocrine gland located in the neck that produces hormones that regulate metabolism and energy levels in the body. Thyroid thermography uses infrared imaging to detect changes in the function and health of the thyroid gland, such as inflammation, nodules, cysts, and tumors. These changes can be indicators of thyroid conditions such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and thyroid cancer.
